That turned out to be a lie too, as did their promise to start taking software updates seriously with the launch of the new Software Upgrade Center. Getting major upgrades to the public by major OEMs seems to be an end of the year thing. No matter how early Google works with the likes of Huawei, LG, Samsung, and others, their official stable upgrade tends to come at the end of that year. In any case, if you currently own the Verizon Wireless version of the LG V40, then they have said the update to Android Pie is going to begin rolling out today.
