But the data can also be used for targeting ads to you and your family, and for other marketing purposes. In the same menu, you can also turn off Interest-Based Ads, which will affect not just your TV but also other Amazon devices.

These television brands may have their own privacy policies that limit the types of data being collected, but there's no opting out of Google's policies during setup. You'll get to the Google agreements during the initial setup, after you've chosen your language, connected to WiFi, and set up or signed in to your Google Account.
