Turn on QR code reader by sliding the button to the right. The QR reader is turned off by default, so you need to enable it.

Naturally you can pin them to the Edge panel for easy access, too. This could be really very useful if you, say, always use your mail and mapping together. And, of course in true Galaxy Note-style, you can drag and drop between the windows — say an image from the My Files app across to the Samsung Email app.
