The apps I had on the phone only wanted to work from the phones built in memory not the extra memory card I had installed. So really running out of the phones memory started my quest looking for a new phone. However the speed and everything else about the phone is still great to this day. My dad still uses his Alcatel Icon pop and likes it very much. Yesterday he had to buy a new battery for it though. No big deal. The old one seems to just pop out and you just have to pop the new one in and it was dirt cheap too! I still think this is the best phone Tracfone Offers.

Because it has such a strong processor it can easily play HVEC compressed video files. Just down load free Handbrake video software and compress large video files down with H video compression and add to your extra sd card.
It has 5 Megapixal camera and a. Bluetooth 4 and GPS works great with Google maps if you get lost. It has 4gigs of internal memory but only 2gigs is available for your use and google software and preinstalled software takes up a large chunk of the 2gigs you have to work with. Now the BAD, you can not install extra apps to this phone's SD card: this means that you are limited on what you can install on internal memory so just be frugal don't install things you don't use all the time.
This is a Kitkat 4. Oh this is really UGLY because Tracfone has already said they are not updating the firmware so don't ask.

One last thing this phone can not read 64gig sd cards; the largest it can use is a 32gig sd card. This could be a awesome phone with extra internal memory and program access to SD card but alas it was not to be. If the phone manufacturers would smarten up they would make internal memory expandable to the user via external highspeed memory cards like we have on pc and laptops. The phones exist for emergency calling purposes but to be fair they have a long bus ride and need some entertainment. The original requests were for iPhones but a little investigation on my part soon led to the conclusion that wasn't happening. Even a used older model was So, being a tracfone customer, I begin checking their website regularly.
This phone appeared several weeks ago.
I came to Amazon to read the reviews and it sounded great. It was also 20 dollars cheaper through Amazon with the triple minutes benefits included. Tracfone was selling this model on their website as a single minutes product. Phones arrived quickly, were easy to set up and the number transfer service was not as bad of a hassle that I had feared. The girls are ecstatic. The features are exactly what they wanted: 5 inch screen, tons of games from the App Store many they wanted were free , flashlight it is dark when they get on the bus so they can find dropped items or use it to read , built in radio, "exotic" looking screen savers THAT MOVE my 10 year old spent close to an hour just checking that out, such happiness , lock screen, and a ton of emojis including the poop emoji if that is a concern to you.
They seemed to figure out the phone operation intuitively. I inherited one of their old "lame" phones but I think I may get one of these for myself in the future. Will update in a couple of weeks. Brought phone for school for my granddaughter to use to call me to pick her up and just activated it. Tracfone told me it wasn't a triple minute phone and yet you sold it to me as a triple minute phone!!!! Shame on you.

Cannot be completely factory reset every time load anything becomes less functional will not accept or use smart chip inserted All return text has turned yellow worst phone yet no good for Safelink or online use problem is no longer supported so cannot be reset to factory easily hacked and going to burn it up to make sure no one else uses it gets my private information I understand the principles but my background is very low on stuff but related to math and physics with enough information I can figure it out.
The phone just sold off gave away all my information was not favored for me and I bought it gave it electricity put MY photos on it and if they want to own the photos I will go back to the camera I have no problem with anyone looking at my photos of people on inflatable chickens Julie bought for a graduation gift that made us laugh so much as it was so hard to do the mostly flipped themselves over which is how chicken fight piggy back works in the river anyways no one gets hurt as long as water does not go up your nose but then they took my phone photos sent them back to me said panorama um no different photos don't hook them together I can do a panorama I just spent about 4 hours clicking and then they would not let me take my own photos off the phone they wanted it to go through their accounts and they gave it back to me compressed that phone is broken and trashed so no one else uses it again.
There is a point where companies need to learn some loyalty to their users because Alcatel is cheap because people hate them what they do talk out here. It does not just ruin the reputation of that phone it can ruin the reputation of the entire line of phones I will never buy another Alcatel or hook another phone up to Tracfone because they charge for help them put you on hold to eat up minutes apparently on purpose.
Bought this for my wife. Big Icons are easy to use; quickly finds our wifi; Nice,crisp pictures. She has deleted apps she does use like Facebook , only to have the useless Google apps quickly fill the memory again. When you try to clear space by resetting Google apps, they quickly update to fill the space!
You can't even download an app to clean up space. Update, My wife got frustrated with the constant space hogging by Google apps.

Now I use this phone and even the Uber app keeps telling me there's not enough room to update.. If I take pics, I upload them to online storage to free up memory, only to have the phone slow down while it updates Google apps, including YouTube, which I DON'T use on the phone, and can't remove. This arrived about a week ago used,very good. My old ZTE had begun shutting down on its own, and i thought about looking around.

And last but not least, the coverage. Check your coverage before you buy. Word of caution, this phone no longer qualifies for triple minutes. I called to activate this phone yesterday and was told that they no longer allow this device to get it.
